The Jinelli Story

The Jinelli heritage started when young Valentino came back from World War II in 1946 to resume his roll in the family business. He served in the 4th Marine Division in the South Pacific, he was awarded two citations and served in three invasions. Valentino served his country, his family and his Italian heritage bravely and proudly during this time. The exciting business of buying, selling and collecting antiques started for Valentino the same year he came back from his overseas duty. His antique business started as a natural spin-off from his regular business of working with metals and finishing them through the plating process, this occupation was truly a throw back to old-world craftsmanship that was taught to him by his father, an immigrant from Italy.

At first his side business had a heavy emphasis on antique cars, the restorations on these automobiles were a natural fit with his families business of plating. His interest soon broadened into an appreciation for fine antiques and art objects which grew into a new business that started without a storefront. He bought and sold fine art objects like Tiffany, Steuben, Bronzes and Antique Automobiles to other dealers and to his growing list of private clients. His passion and enthusiasm grew throughout the years with his hobby until it burst into a full-fledged business with his first store in the late 1950's.

In the 1960's the addition of a national antique appraisers license opened up new avenues for his ever-growing side business, he then branched off into Estate Appraising for insurance companies and private collectors alike. At the early age of nine, Valentino's second oldest son Mark Antonio worked side-by-side with his father throughout his formative years in the antique business while his youngest son Joseph stepped in to run the family business. In the 1970's Valentino and Mark Antonio were the primary buyers for one of the largest art glass collections in the United States. Throughout the years their antique business has been located in several different locations in downtown Omaha, including a store in one of the areas largest malls in West Omaha. Valentino closed his last public antique store ten years ago but still maintained a large inventory and kept very active in buying and selling to cater to his large number of private clients from coast to coast.

Now in 2006 Valentino along with his son's have decided to liquidate one of the largest collections of antiques ever through eBay and through their all new website jinelli.com. Jinelli.com features their finest line of antiques, which will include the finest of Art Glass, Art Pottery, Bronzes, Jewelry, Sterling Silver, Clocks, Toys, Collectibles, Antique Automobiles, Porcelain and many other selections in many different categories.
